Sagittal serial sections of xGal reaction of an adult N2 Ple103-EGFP/cre mouse. Serial cryosections (at 640µm intervals starting approximately 340µm from midline) were stained with xGal reaction. LacZ-positive cells are found throughout the brain; Cells are present in the olfactory bulb, cortex, striatum, hippocampus, thalamus, midbrain, brainstem, and in the cerebellum. It appears that whole cortical columns are labeled, as well as subpopulations of cells in all hippocampal areas. Some cerebellar granule cells and Purkinje cells with their processes are labeled as well. EGFP expression was not detected in these brains by either native fluorescence or immunocytochemistry (not show). |
